Afsat Communications (T) Ltd was established in 1994 and is a subsidiary of Afsat Communications Ltd (ACL). Afsat Communications (T) Ltd, ACTL, was issued with a Public Data Communication Operator’s license in 1996 making it amongst the earliest companies in Tanzania to be issued with such a license.
Since its inception, ACTL has based its solutions on Satellite and wireless communications technologies due to the limited available terrestrial infrastructure in Tanzania. ACTL offers VSAT Satellite Communications Solutions for Corporate Networks and also provides Broadband Internet solutions for Small to Medium Enterprises – All services are supplied under the flagship brand ‘iWay’. The iWay services which are; iWay broadband, iWay Dedicated and iWay Corporate Networks. In Dar es Salaam, ACTL also provides Dedicated Internet Access via Wireless Communications. We also provide maintenance and support services.

Our core competence is in providing communication solutions, through network design, system optimization and project implementation tailored towards our customer’s requirements. We also provide superior customer care and after sales support.

There are over 750 iWay VSAT terminals currently deployed in Tanzania.
